ABOUT PIXELFETCH.

The fastest way to discover what’s new in photography.

The Short Version

Pixelfetch is a daily discovery feed for photography gear, news, and tools. We monitor dozens of trusted sources across the web and surface what actually matters — so you can stay sharp without wading through the noise.

Check it with your coffee. Know what’s new in 2 minutes. Get on with your day.

The Longer Version

I’m Alex Kesselaar. I run a photography and video production company called Kess Media in Sydney. I shoot for government agencies, infrastructure projects, and corporate clients. I’ve been behind a camera professionally for over a decade.

Like most working photographers, I was drowning in tabs. PetaPixel, DPReview, YouTube reviews, Reddit threads, manufacturer announcements, new software releases — keeping up with what’s happening in our industry had become a job in itself. And most of what I’d find was either buried in a 20-minute YouTube video or lost in a 3000-word review I didn’t have time to read.

I wanted something simpler. A single place I could check every morning that would tell me: here’s what’s new, here’s what matters, here’s what you should pay attention to. No algorithm trying to keep me scrolling. No sponsored content disguised as editorial. Just clean signal.

That place didn’t exist. So I built it.

Pixelfetch was actually an idea I first had about ten years ago — back in 2015, I registered the name, set up a Twitter account, even mocked up a landing page. But the tools to build what I envisioned didn’t exist yet. The idea sat in a drawer.

In 2026, the tools caught up with the vision. I built Pixelfetch in a matter of days using modern development tools, and it’s been running ever since — monitoring sources, filtering noise, and surfacing the photography content that’s worth your time.

What Makes Pixelfetch Different

We’re photographers first.

This isn’t a tech company that happens to cover photography. It’s built by a working photographer who uses the gear, runs the software, and understands the workflow. Every editorial decision comes from that perspective.

We respect your time.

No 3000-word reviews. No 20-minute videos. Each item in the feed gives you the essential information in 2–3 sentences. If you want to go deeper, the link to the full source is always there.

We’re opinionated.

Pixelfetch isn’t a neutral aggregator. We have a point of view about what matters and what doesn’t. The best stuff rises to the top. The noise gets filtered out.

We link to the source.

We don’t rewrite other people’s work. We surface it, summarise it in our own words, and send you to the original. The photographers, journalists, and reviewers who create great content deserve the click.
